5x8 trailer
A truck driver told deputies he had picked up a load of tomato paste from the Heinz factory in Fremont on Friday and parked the 2003 Freightliner around 11 a.m. at a lot on Ohio 2 and Tettau Road in Erie Township.
The driver told officers he went back to the lot at 6:50 p.m. Sunday to drive the truck to a Heinz factory in Michigan and saw the cab and trailer were gone.
He told authorities he had locked the truck and taken the keys with him
The crash happened about 9am after the man's Ballarat-bound B-double truck and another B-double collided at the Mt View Quarry entrance on Maude-Sheoaks Rd.
The driver of the other B-double, a 52-year-old man from Teesdale, escaped injury.
Bannockburn Police Sergeant Tim Bolitho said the truck's front and cabin was crushed underneath the dog trailer of the second B-double.
'The man was conscious throughout the rescue. He was stable and talking through the ordeal. He spoke to his wife on a mobile phone. He was calm and put her at ease,' Sgt Bolitho said
