Trailer hitch locks

We don't have the expertise. We need to hire an expert to do this thing and we need to fund it at a reasonable rate.'
Town Meeting rejected an article to spend $150,000 on such a study.
Selectmen Chairwoman Linell Grundman presented a plan to staff the station during the day only with the town's existing firefighters. The funding approved by Town Meeting would cover overtime expenses and the cost of a trailer for the firefighters to sleep in.
She said the town should ask for an operational override to ensure an ongoing funding source for the station.
Selectman Dana Barrette said passing an override would be 'an uphill sell' given the economic crisis.
He said the town should determine which services it is prepared to give up to support the reopening of the fire station.
'Before I would even contemplate voting to spend a single dollar or voting to support an override for the recurring source of funding, I would want to have clearly identified budget line item cuts that we would take in the other departments to offset this growing expense going forward in the case that A: we didn't vote to support an override, or B: the town didn't vote to support an override.'
Kilty supported an override question which he said would reveal how much the town supports reopening the East Sandwich fire station.
